We are so lucky to have so many great natural play areas around where we live. We, as a family, love the countryside and love being out in it, finding new places to explore and take the dog for walk in but one of my favorite places is Swithland Woods.
We used to go there a lot with my primary school as it is such a great wood, loads of hollows to explore, tress to climb, a little stream to play in and plenty of stick!
We often go here with and without the dog and this last week we also took my brother along with us too. It was a great afternoon, and we ended up spending 2 hours in the wood exploring, climbing and playing games!
We are a very modern family, have lots of technology in our home, but my kids still love being outside in the fresh air, pretending to be in a battle or searching for fairies under toadstools. All things every child should really be allowed to do. So why not excite your children’s imaginations this week and take them to a local wood and see what fun you can have!
